MATTHEW BAYE
I am a lighting designer currently based in Lincoln, NE. I specialize in transformative architectural/theatrical lighting for businesses and individuals. I have 12+ years of professional experience in theatre, entertainment and architecture. I have additional experience in technical production as a master electrician and carpenter.
In 2012, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film) in Design and Technical Production with an emphasis in Lighting. I worked professionally in Chicago in theatre, dance, entertainment, television, and corporate events as a lighting designer, electrician and carpenter.
In 2017, I graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design. I continued to work professionally as a lighting designer, electrician, and draftsman while in graduate school. These industry opportunities in Los Angeles further developed my skills set and expanded my creativity as an artist and craftsman. After graduation I moved to Denver and worked as an electrical designer and architectural lighting designer.
From my early days in Nebraska community theatre to large scale productions in LA, it has been my intention to continually develop my abilities and to encourage and share this knowledge with others.
I am currently working as a landscape lighting designer and enjoying being back in the Good Life and closer to family.
